🧭 Compulsory Equipment – Must Be Carried at All Times
To ensure safety and fairness for all participants, the following equipment is mandatory and must be carried as specified throughout the event:
Per Team:
- First Aid Kit containing:
- 2 x crepe (snake) bandages (minimum 5 cm width)
- 6 x wound closure strips
- 1 x triangular bandage
- 2 x non-stick wound dressing pads
- Mobile phone (fully charged and sealed in a waterproof bag)
- Event maps and course description (provided by organisers)
Per Person:
- Minimum 0.5 litres of water at the start of each leg
- Timing tag and race bib (secured to your wrist – provided by organisers)
🚴♂️ Mountain Biking Leg – Compulsory Equipment
Per Person:
- Mountain bike or commuter bike with race bib attached
(Bike hire is available during online registration) - Bike helmet (must comply with Australian safety standards)

🛶 Kayaking Leg – Compulsory Equipment
Per Person:
- Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
(Provided by organisers or bring your own – must meet safety standards) - Double-ended paddle
(Provided or bring your own)
Per Team:
- Double kayak

While not mandatory, the following items are strongly recommended to enhance your experience and performance:
- Waterproof pouch to protect maps and race documents
- Compass
(Navigation is straightforward, but a compass may be helpful. Hire or purchase available during registration.) - Bike map board
(Hire or purchase available online during registration) - Trail-running or off-road shoes
- Basic bike repair kit for punctures or minor issues
- Nutrition and hydration to last the entire event
(Consider energy bars, gels, and electrolyte tablets)
