🧭 Compulsory Equipment – Must Be Carried at All Times

To ensure safety and fairness for all participants, the following equipment is mandatory and must be carried as specified throughout the event:

Per Team:

  • First Aid Kit containing:
    • 2 x crepe (snake) bandages (minimum 5 cm width)
    • 6 x wound closure strips
    • 1 x triangular bandage
    • 2 x non-stick wound dressing pads
  • Mobile phone (fully charged and sealed in a waterproof bag)
  • Event maps and course description (provided by organisers)

Per Person:

  • Minimum 0.5 litres of water at the start of each leg
  • Timing tag and race bib (secured to your wrist – provided by organisers)

 

 

 

🚴‍♂️ Mountain Biking Leg – Compulsory Equipment

Per Person:

  • Mountain bike or commuter bike with race bib attached
    (Bike hire is available during online registration)
  • Bike helmet (must comply with Australian safety standards)
    (Helmet hire also available with bike hire)

 

 

🛶 Kayaking Leg – Compulsory Equipment

Per Person:

  • Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
    (Provided by organisers or bring your own – must meet safety standards)
  • Double-ended paddle
    (Provided or bring your own)

Per Team:

  • Double kayak 
    (Provided by organisers)

 

 

🧰 Recommended Items

While not mandatory, the following items are strongly recommended to enhance your experience and performance:

  • Waterproof pouch to protect maps and race documents
  • Compass
    (Navigation is straightforward, but a compass may be helpful. Hire or purchase available during registration.)
  • Bike map board
    (Hire or purchase available online during registration)
  • Trail-running or off-road shoes
  • Basic bike repair kit for punctures or minor issues
  • Nutrition and hydration to last the entire event
    (Consider energy bars, gels, and electrolyte tablets)
