The Sprint Series Adventure Race is an exciting team-based challenge that blends trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, and navigation. Whether you're new to adventure racing or looking for your next adrenaline hit, this event is made for you!
What is the Sprint Series Adventure Race?
The Sprint Series is a short-form adventure race where teams of two navigate their way through a set course using a map and compass. You’ll run or trek on trails, ride your mountain bike, and paddle on safe waterways. The event is designed to be fun, inclusive, and achievable for everyone.
Who can take part?
Anyone aged 8 and up! The event welcomes beginners, families, parent-child duos, friends, and experienced racers (there will be bonus checkpoints for you). Racers under 18 must have an adult teammate.
Do I need experience in navigation?
No prior navigation experience is required. You'll receive a pre-marked map and instructions at the start. Navigation skills will help but if you do not have any you can attend a training session a night before and it will get you covered.

What’s the difference between the Classic and Novice courses?
Classic Course: Longer and more challenging — perfect for those with some fitness or prior experience.
Novice Course: Shorter and beginner-friendly — ideal for first-timers, families, or those wanting a taste of adventure racing.
How long does it take to finish?
Classic Course: 2.5 to 5 hours
Novice Course: 1.5 to 2.5 hours
There are no cut-off times. Take your time and enjoy the journey!
Do I need my own kayak?
No! We supply all kayaking gear, including double sit-on-top kayaks, paddles, and personal flotation devices (PFDs). It’s all included in your entry fee.
Can I hire a mountain bike?
Yes. You can add bike hire during registration. Bikes are delivered to the event and collected after the finish, making it hassle-free. Please email us if you need to order your bike after you registered. We will add the booking to your registration.
What gear should I bring?
- Mountain bike (or hire one)
- Helmet
- Compass
- Small backpack with water, snacks, and basic first aid
- Comfortable trail shoes and appropriate clothing
What time does the race start?
Start times vary, but most events begin between 8:30 and 10:00 AM. Please arrive early for registration, map handout, and briefing. Make sure you read the final race informaion we send to all registered participants approximately 10 days before the event you have registed for.
How do I register?
Visit the official event page at adventuresprint.com.au and choose your location to register online. Spots are limited, so register early!
Can I race with my child?
Absolutely! Parent-child teams are a popular part of our events. Children aged 8+ can take part with an adult teammate. We recommend to race a Novice course and get them to Classic when they are over 12-14.
Is this a competitive event?
That’s up to you! You can race to win or simply complete the course for the experience. Most first-timers join for the fun and challenge.
Can I participate solo?
No, Sprint Series races are designed for teams of two. If you’re solo and looking for a teammate, post in our Facebook group or email us — we’ll help match you up!
